Henry Schein launches oral health scheme in Northern Ireland

24th October 2013

Henry Schein has announced the launch of a new programme to help improve oral health standards in deprived parts of Northern Ireland.

The Helping Kids Smile scheme is designed to provide education and oral health preventative and treatment services to underserved populations of primary school students across the nation over the next two years.

Youngsters will receive instructions on how to brush their teeth, learn about oral hygiene and receive dental examinations every six months.

The company has been able to secure volunteer dental services from local dental practitioners, while coordinating with schools and supplying prevention and treatment supplies to ensure the success of the programme.

Simon Gambold, managing director of Henry Schein Dental UK, said: "We at Henry Schein Dental UK acknowledge the importance of promoting oral health in populations who are not, for whatever reason, accessing dental services."

This comes after the company also recently organised a charity fun day in Gillingham and supported outreach schemes in Malawi and Albania, as part of its Henry Schein Cares corporate social responsibility activities.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801653316-ADNFCR
