Henry Schein offers aid following US floods

18th May 2010

Henry Schein has committed to lending assistance to helping dental practitioners in the US cope with recent natural disasters affecting the country.

The healthcare company is offering support to healthcare professionals in Tennessee, Mississippi and other states suffering financial, logistical and operational difficulties via a 24-hour disaster hotline.

This assistance is also being given to medical facilities and veterinary practices and follows a recent spate of tornados, thunderstorms and flooding affecting the country.

Stanley Bergman, chairman and chief executive officer for Henry Schein, said: “We recognise that some of our dental, medical and animal health customers’ practices may have been adversely affected by these natural disasters and Henry Schein is ready to offer our support.”

This comes after Henry Schein earlier this year donated $1 million (692,000 pounds) worth of medical supplied to victims of the Haiti earthquake.

It was also reported by Dentistry.co.uk that the company provided free dental care to 270 disadvantaged people in the UK last year as part of work with homeless charity group Crisis.
