Henry Schein to acquire five companies from Arseus

Henry Schein has agreed a deal to acquire five dental and technology businesses operating in three European countries from the Arseus group of companies.

The transaction will see Henry Schein acquiring 100 percent ownership of a number of firms representing annual sales of approximately $97 million (59.08 million pounds), strengthening its position in the EU market.

Included in the deal is Logiciel Julie, the leading dental practice management software company in France, as well as fellow French firm Arcade Dentaire, a distributor of dental equipment, related consumables and IT solutions.

Henry Schein will also take control of Netherlands-based Arseus Dental Solutions BV, plus Belgium's Arseus Dental Solutions NV and Arseus Lab.

Stanley Bergman, chairman of the board and chief executive officer of Henry Schein, said: "We look forward to welcoming nearly 230 new Team Schein Members including industry leaders, highly skilled sales and technical teams and top software engineers."

This comes after the organisation made a new investment in BioHorizons, a US-based manufacturer of internationally-distributed advanced dental implants, in November 2013.
