Henry Schein to support relief efforts in the Philippines
Henry Schein has announced that it will be donating $150,000 (91,700 pounds) in support of relief efforts for victims of the recent typhoon in the Philippines.
The company is working together with its supply partners and non-governmental organisations such as AmeriCares, Direct Relief, Heart to Heart International and MedShare to provide both funding support and essential healthcare supplies.
Meanwhile, Henry Schein Cares – the company's global corporate social responsibility programme – has set up a dedicated Philippines Relief Fund, money from which will be donated to bodies such as the Catholic Relief Services, Islamic Relief USA, IsraAID and Lutheran World Relief.
Stanley Bergman, chairman of the board and chief executive officer of Henry Schein, said: "The citizens of the Philippines remain in dire need of assistance and Henry Schein is committed to supporting relief efforts for the victims of this terrible tragedy."
The firm is a major contributor to charitable causes and was named as one of the top 300 largest companies in the US earlier this year.
