High costs ‘causing people to delay dental treatment’

25th February 2016

Many people in the UK are putting off dental treatment they may require due to concerns about the costs involved.

This is according to a new survey from Get Dental Plans, which indicated that as many as 19 percent of the British population see the high financial expense as a hurdle to seeking out timely dental treatment.

Moreover, ten percent of respondents said they would be willing to cut back on oral health products and treatments in order to save money.

This comes after the Dental Fees Survey carried out by Dentistry.co.uk and Dentistry magazine last year indicated that the cost of treatment tends to vary significantly between different parts of the country, suggesting this is a problem that is worse for some people than others.

Marc Benjamin, managing director of Get Dental Plans, said: "People simply can't afford to pay for the treatment they need, and are disappointed that they cannot afford to look after their teeth properly. They realise that poor dental hygiene can lead to serious health problems."ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801813450-ADNFCR
