Hill-Rom appoints chief technology officer

Hill-Rom has announced that Brian Lawrence is set to join the company as senior vice-president and chief technology officer.

A graduate of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Mr Lawrence was previously chief technology officer for life support solutions at GE Healthcare.

Other roles he has held include president and chief executive of Extend Optical Systems Corporation and senior vice-president of research and development at Molecular OptoElectronics Corporation.

He is due to start work in his new roles at Hill-Rom on December 6th 2010.

John Greisch, the medical technology firm's president and chief executive, described Mr Lawrence as "an experienced innovator and engineer" with a proven track record.

"Brian Lawrence will be an outstanding addition to our leadership team, especially as we are intensifying our focus on research and development," he added.

Abel Ang, Mr Lawrence's predecessor, will move into a new role as regional president for the Asia Pacific region at Hill-Rom.
