Hill-Rom ends 2013 fiscal year with strong performance

25th October 2013

Hill-Rom has published strong financial results for the fourth and final quarter of its 2013 business year, which came to an end on September 30th 2013.

The medical technology firm's fourth-quarter revenue came to $438 million (270.59 million pounds), up by one percent year on year, while its full-year total was $1.72 billion – an annual increase of five percent.

Its surgical/respiratory care division saw the largest improvement thanks to the impact of the recent Aspen acquisition, with key milestones of the last few months including the launch of the Progressa bed system.

John Greisch, president and chief executive officer of Hill-Rom, said: "Delivering adjusted earnings ahead of our guidance for the quarter and another strong year of operating cash flow reflects our disciplined focus on operational improvement and effective cash management."

However, he added that the company remains cautious in its strategic approach as it moves into 2014 due to continuing unevenness in capital order trends.

This comes after the firm expanded its stock repurchase authorisation and announced a fourth quarter dividend last month.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801653696-ADNFCR
