Hill-Rom expands respiratory care research capability

13th April 2010

Hill-Rom has opened two new research and development centres in order to allow it to expand its activities in the respiratory care sector.

The two new centres of excellence are located at the company’s Asia-Pacific Innovation Center in Singapore and include a 5,000 sq ft dedicated respiratory care development centre.

This new centre will now be used to develop innovative global medical products in this area beyond the company’s current Vest Airway Clearance System, which is a high frequency chest wall oscillation therapy.

Other objectives for the newly-expanded facility include increasing the company’s offering of technology solutions for emerging markets.

Hill-Rom’s Singapore research site has been open since 2008, while the firm operates similar centres in regions such as the US, Sweden and France.

Last week, the medical device company announced that Alejandro Infante, Susan Lichtenstein and Phillip Settimi have all been appointed to key executive roles at the firm, which they will take up at the beginning of May.
