Hill-Rom reports revenue increase in fourth quarter

29th October 2010

Hill-Rom has expressed confidence in its business prospects over the next 12 months after reporting year-on-year growth in the fiscal fourth quarter for the 2009-10 year.

During the three months ending September 30th 2010, the medical technology firm's revenue grew by nine percent compared to the corresponding period of last year, reaching a total of $397 million (249.4 million pounds).

In the same timeframe, the company's adjusted earnings per share increased by 63 percent and net income grew by 92 percent, with international and surgical sales among its strongest areas of expansion.

As a result, Hill-Rom now expects to achieve double-digit earnings growth in the 2010-11 fiscal year as it continues to execute its business development strategies.

John Greisch, president and chief executive officer of Hill-Rom, said: "Despite continuing challenges in the economic and healthcare environment, we are pleased to close our fiscal year with another solid performance in the fourth quarter."

Earlier this month, the company announced the launch of the P500 Therapy Surface, which is designed to make it easier for caregivers to treat patients effectively and safely.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-800202455-ADNFCR
