Hologic and Clarius Mobile Health to distribute handheld ultrasound system

28th November 2017

Hologic has announced a new development and distribution agreement with Clarius Mobile Health for an innovative wireless handheld ultrasound scanner.

The Clarius system is being showcased by Hologic at this week's scientific assembly and annual meeting of the Radiological Society of North America, and is designed to offer a high standard of performance in a compact unit.

This supports Hologic's broader strategy of driving early detection of breast cancer and will help ensure that women around the globe have access to accurate and convenient breast health solutions.

Pete Valenti, Hologic's president for breast and skeletal health solutions, said: "The exceptional image quality and portability of Clarius's ultrasound system, coupled with our industry-leading deep learning algorithms, bring us one step closer to ensuring all women have access to the breast care they need and deserve."

Currently, of the 1.5 billion women worldwide who are eligible for breast cancer screening, less than five percent of them actually receive these services. Hologic is seeking to address this by increasing global access to new technology and solutions.
