Hologic completes mammography systems order

6th March 2009

Hologic has announced the final order phase of a deal to supply a number of breast cancer screening systems.

The company, which specialises in the development and manufacture of diagnostic and imaging products, will provide 14 Selenia of its digital mammography devices to a scheme in the Netherlands.

It is advised that the fourth and final part of the Netherlands Breast Cancer Screening Tender will also involve the supply of service contracts for the technology.

Jack Cumming, chairman and chief executive officer of Hologic, said the move was a sign that the country was serious about addressing women’s health issues and should be commended.

"This is a remarkable feat for a country with a screening population of less than two million women between the ages of 50 to 75," he added.

Last month the company announced its presence at the Raymond James 30th Annual Institutional Investors Conference would include a presentation from Glenn Muir, the firm’s chief financial officer.
