1st December 2009

Hologic has launched its latest product on to the scientific instruments market – its SecurView DX multimodality diagnostic mammography workstation software.

The release of version 7-0-0, means that the benefits of the SecurView workstation have been extended to the multimodality viewer, the firm states.

It enables radiologists to review breast images from any modality in unison with reviews of mammography images and boasts the facility to define the orientation and sequence of views in an exam.

Dave Mislan, product manager of breast imaging for Hologic, explained: “These new features, along with the […] ability to view mammography images from all vendors and advanced R2 CAD features, uniquely position SecurView as a comprehensive breast imaging workstation.”

Meanwhile, last month Hologic announced that it would be exhibiting its Adiana contraceptive system at a major conference.

The treatment is a minimally-invasive procedure, requires no incisions and can be performed under local anaesthesia in doctors’ surgeries.
