Horiba and Medica agree EasyCell distribution deal
Horiba has announced a non-exclusive agreement with Medica for the worldwide distribution of the EasyCell assistant digital hematology cell imaging system.
The companies will work together to make the EasyCell assistant available for use in hospitals and clinical laboratories. The device helps to improve productivity by automatically locating white cells on a blood smear and pre-classifying them on a display, grouped by cell type.
It also displays images of red cells and platelets for performance of red cell morphology and platelet estimates. Meanwhile, its Remote Viewing Software facilitates the sharing of cell images throughout hospitals.
Utilising automated digital cell differential analysis of stained slides using pattern recognition technology will help labs to unlock new efficiencies.
Olivier Pou, corporate marketing director at Horiba Medical, said: "The EasyCell assistant is an important addition to our haematology product range and is a good match with our five-part differential haematology instrument portfolio."
This comes after the firm expanded its product portfolio last month with the launch of three new scientific imaging cameras that are ideal for low-light imaging applications.
