Hotwire appoints new chief executive officer
Hotwire has confirmed the appointment of Barbara Bates as its new group chief executive officer (CEO).
Ms Bates has been named as the successor to the long-serving Brendon Craigie, who departed Hotwire in March after 16 years with the agency. She previously served as CEO of its North American operations.
The new boss has been with the group since last year, when Hotwire purchased the Silicon Valley-based integrated communications agency Eastwick, which Ms Bates co-founded in 1991 and continued to lead until its acquisition.
In her new role, she will oversee a leadership team also consisting of Alex MacLaverty, Andy West, Adrian Talbot and Heather Kernahan, the latter of whom will now be in charge of leading Hotwire's US operations as president for North America.
Matthew Melhuish, CEO of Hotwire's parent company Enero, said: "Barbara has the experience and skill to nurture the huge appetite and opportunity there is for growth within the business, and she brings a fresh perspective and a background of challenging the norm."
