Hotwire confirms exit of chief executive officer

27th March 2017

Hotwire has announced that its chief executive officer (CEO) Brendon Craigie has stepped down from his role to pursue new opportunities.

Mr Craigie departs Hotwire after a career with the agency spanning 16 years, including six as its CEO. He has agreed to assist with the leadership transition in the coming months, with a successor having not yet been selected.

A former employee of Weber Shandwick, Mr Craigie took over as Hotwire's boss in 2011, coinciding with the launch of the agency's US business. He relocated from London to New York in 2015 to help support its ongoing American growth.

During his time as CEO, he has overseen a number of important milestones, including the recent acquisition of Eastwick Communications, the firm's Latin American market debut and its introduction of a new global health tech practice.

Following his departure, Hotwire's global leadership team of Alex MacLaverty, Barbara Bates, Andy West, Adrian Talbot and Heather Kernahan will take the reins, reporting to Matthew Melhuish, the CEO of parent company Enero Group.

Mr Melhuish said: "Brendon has been a member of the Hotwire team for many years and we wish him success for the future. We have great confidence in the global leadership team to ensure the business continues to go from strength to strength."
