Idexx elects new member of board of directors

Idexx Laboratories has announced the appointment of experienced business leader Bruce Claflin as a member of its board of directors, effective as of this week.

Mr Claflin's unanimous election to the board will also see him serve on the company's audit committee and the nominating and governance committee.

He has more than 30 years of executive and senior management experience at 3Com Corporation – where he served as president and chief executive between 2001 and 2006 – as well as Digital Equipment Corporation and IBM.

The business leader also has 15 years of experience in serving on public boards as an independent director for firms such as Ciena Corporation and Time Warner Telecom.

Jonathan Ayers, Idexx's chairman and chief executive officer, said: "Bruce's extensive experience in serving on public company boards … will be of great value to the board and the company as we continue to strengthen and grow our business globally."

The company will be reporting its financial results for the second quarter of the year at the end of this month.
