Idexx executive vice-president to retire in May

Idexx has announced that its executive vice-president Dr Johnny Powers will be retiring in May 2016, bringing to an end a seven-year career with the company.

Dr Powers will be retiring from the business in May 2016 and has already stepped down from his current position. He has been executive vice-president since 2012 and has been employed by the company since 2009.

He has been credited with playing a key role in developing Idexx's global leadership position in the reference lab business, with his focus on product innovation, creative commercial strategies, strategic lab acquisitions, geographic expansion and commercial alignment hailed as key assets.

During his tenure, the firm has delivered several new breakthrough reference lab products and services to the veterinary market and completed several important business transformations.
