Idexx Laboratories appoints new human resources leader

Idexx Laboratories has appointed Giovani Twigge as its corporate vice-president for human resources in order to better manage its global workforce.

Mr Twigge joins the organisation following an 11-year career at Abbott Laboratories, where he held a number of international management roles, including most recently the position of divisional vice-president for diagnostics.

In the newly-created role at Idexx, he will take responsibility for overseeing the firm's worldwide human resources activities, including business and employee communications.

Mr Twigge said he will be aiming to harness the capabilities of Idexx's staff in order to help the company meet its potential for ongoing growth.

Jonathan Ayers, chairman and chief executive officer of Idexx Laboratories, said: "Giovani brings strong strategic and functional human resources experience developed in a variety of business environments, geographies and business models."

Earlier this month, the company announced the launch of a new lithium heparin whole blood separator, which is designed for use with its Catalyst Dx chemistry analyser.
