Idexx Laboratories names new member of board of directors

Idexx Laboratories has announced the appointment of Stuart Essig as a member of its board of directors, increasing its number of board members from eight to nine.

Dr Essig has served as chairman of the board at Integra LifeSciences since 2012, having previously been employed as chief executive officer from 1997 until 2012. During this time, he has been credited with building Integra into a leading global surgical products company.

He is also the current managing director of the private investment firm Prettybrook Partners, the chairman of the board of the medical technology firm Breg, and a member of the boards of SeaSpine, and Owens and Minor.

As such, Dr Essig can offer extensive executive management experience and deep strategic expertise accrued across numerous global healthcare industry roles, which will help Idexx to achieve strong organic growth.
