Idexx launches new online service

Idexx has launched a new online service to make “work flow easier” for veterinary professionals, it has been claimed.

Now available on vetconnect.com, the company’s Telemedicine scheme provides real-time access to case results, giving doctors more freedom to access information anywhere at anytime.

It also eliminates the need to provide patient history during a medical examination, as requests can be prepared and submitted beforehand.

The service also makes it possible to seek a second opinion from an Idexx board-certified specialist.

Senior veterinarian Matthew Krecic discussed the benefits of the system.

“Hospital staff can now prepare consult requests when it’s convenient for them and reduce their time on the phone transmitting ECGs or relaying patient information,” he explained.

Professionals can also see results all in one place, giving them more time to care for patients, Mr Krecic concluded.

Idexx develops and markets a number of technology-based products for veterinary, water and food applications.

With operations in over 60 locations around the world, the company now employs more than 4,500 people.
