Intavent Orthofix reveals Contours PHP launch
Intavent Orthofix has revealed that Orthofix International will be launching its Contours Proximal Humeral Plate (PHP).
The company is to release this innovative plating system – which is designed to treat proximal humeral fractures – through its International Orthopaedic distribution network.
The system has been developed to provide minimal invasiveness of metal content in the humeral head while also decreasing the risk of impingement.
Consisting of anatomically contoured left and right plates and a low head profile, the device includes a triangular configuration of the proximal screws – made up of a manin locking screw and fine threaded screws – to provide enhanced stability.
Brad Mason, president and chief executive officer of the company, said the launch of the product demonstrates Orthofix's commitment to the trauma market, adding: "With this internal fixation device, Orthofix now has a complete hardware offering, including a nail, plate, and external fixation system, for the repair of proximal humeral fractures."
