Integrated DNA Technologies and Sophia Genetics agree new alliance

17th February 2016

Integrated DNA Technologies (IDT) has announced a new partnership with Sophia Genetics that will focus on the development of routine clinical diagnostics.

The agreement will see Sophia Genetics combine its Sophia DDM analytics platform with IDT's next-generation sequencing (NGS) target capture products, with the aim of creating the most advanced NGS data analytics platform in the market.

It will help to address the needs of European hospitals moving from small to medium panels, with the new NGS target capture system combining strong analytical performance, high sample throughput and flexibility.

The first bundle solution to be launched will be for diagnosis of hereditary cancers, such as breast, ovarian, and colon cancers, with future solutions targeting leukaemia and cardiac disease.

Dr Joseph Walder, founder and chief executive of IDT, said: "We are confident Sophia Genetics is an ideal partner as we extend our target capture solutions to healthcare institutions in Europe for the ultimate benefit of patients."

Sophia's technology offering is recognised to have helped underpin a number of rapid advances in clinical genomics in recent years.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801812821-ADNFCR
