Intervet/Schering-Plough Animal Health appoints cattle boss

22nd July 2008

Intervet/Schering-Plough Animal Health has appointed Edival Santos as the new head of its global cattle related activities.

Mr Santos has taken charge of the marketing of the company’s various cattle health products, which includes the newly launched vaccine for the bluetongue virus Bovilis BTV8.

Farmers in various parts of northern Europe are fearful of seeing their cows and sheep hit with the bluetongue virus and Intervet/Schering-Plough Animal Health recently staged a symposium to discuss the problem and the surrounding issues.

Having joined Intervet in 2000, Mr Santos became head of global marketing ruminants for the firm in July 2005.

“Our leadership in the ruminants sector has a solid foundation with a strong commitment for future growth,” said Mr Santos.

“We have the right products and the best people to offer a comprehensive set of unique solutions to our customers.”

In May of this year, Intervet/Schering-Plough Animal Health revealed that it had established regional management teams in an effort to enhance the market performance of its business on each continent.
