Intervet/Schering-Plough extends partnership with Destron Fearing

Intervet/Schering-Plough has signed a contract extension that will see it continue to receive syringe and RFID microchip systems and readers from Destron Fearing.

The agreement with Destron Fearing's parent company Digital Angel will see the two companies continue their business relationship until December 31st 2011.

Digital Angel and Destron Fearing have been partners to Intervet/Schering-Plough since 1994, providing the veterinary medicines manufacturer with emergency animal identification solutions.

The alliance has seen Intervet/Schering-Plough market companion pet products from Destron Fearing under the brand name HomeAgain.

Joseph Grillo, chief executive officer of Digital Angel, said: "Intervet/Schering-Plough Animal Health has been a strong partner of Destron Fearing since 1994. We are pleased to announce an extension to our agreement."

Intervet/Schering-Plough is currently in the process of a merger with Merial, a move that will create the largest animal health company in the world.

The new organisation will be named Merial-Intervet and is to be led by current Intervet/Schering-Plough president Raul Kohan.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-800304497-ADNFCR
