Invitrogen focuses on cell therapy

Invitrogen has launched a new cell therapy and claims it will advance the clinical cell field by creating a new unit of its business to focus on the market’s specific needs.

The essential life science technology firm believes the field of cell therapy offers great potential for new and novel therapies in diverse fields such as wound care and cardiovascular diseases.

Joydeep Goswami, the firm’s vice-president of stem cells and regenerative medicine, said: "Moving cell therapies through the research, clinical and commercial phases of development presents its own unique challenges, which Invitrogen is uniquely positioned to address."

He added that the firm aims to we bring project management capabilities to the table to meet cell therapy companies’ "specific needs".

Invitrogen provides products and services that support academic and government research institutions and pharmaceutical and biotech companies worldwide.
