Invitrogen launches online cell biology information resource

Invitrogen has launched a new comprehensive web-based resource for cell biology technology and information, it has announced.

The company states that the Cell Resource Center portal is the first site of its kind in the life-science industry and draws together a wide array of different materials with the aim of advancing cellular research.

It says that the hub, which was designed using customer input from more than 700 scientists from around the globe, enables sector participants to gain access to the broadest range of resources and products for cell biology from a lone source.

Commenting on the new portal, Nicolas Barthelemy, president of Life Technologies’ cell systems division, said that it offers the most comprehensive source of essential data and technologies for cellular research.

"The creation of this unique portal […] demonstrates Invitrogen’s promise of being there for our customers to support their needs everyday through differentiated technologies and truly innovative ways of connecting with the scientific community," he added.

Life Technologies was created in November 2008 when Invitrogen and Applied Biosystems merged.
