Invitrogen launches PlexMark 3 Renal Biomarker Panel Assay

3rd August 2009

Invitrogen has announced the worldwide availability of the PlexMark 3 Renal Biomarker Panel Assay.

Described as a "non-invasive and cost-effective research tool", the device is designed to perform kidney function post-transplantation studies in a timely and efficient fashion.

The firm predicts that the introduction of the tool will assist in the development of trials which could lead to more effective methods of monitoring kidney health in transplant research.

Invitrogen and Applied Biosystems merged in November 2008 to firm Life Technologies.

Jim Janicki, vice-president and general manager of Life Technologies’ transplantation diagnostics business, said: "We are excited about the non-invasive and cost-effective nature of PlexMark and anticipate that research clinicians will want to utilise this product to better understand immunosuppression as it relates to whole kidney function."

Last month, the company launched the Invitrogen Cell Resource Center, which claims to be the life science sector’s first comprehensive web-based resource for cell biology technology and information.ADNFCR-1050-ID-19293604-ADNFCR
