Ipsen marks Fondation Ipsen anniversary with cancer research conference
Ipsen has marked the 30th anniversary of its research and knowledge-oriented subsidiary Fondation Ipsen with a special conference on cancer science.
The event was attended by eight Nobel Prize laureates and some of the greatest scientists in biomedical research, who congregated to discuss cancer science from the perspective of fundamental biology.
It aims to provide a showcase of the considerable progress made in cancer research over the last few decades, as well as the contributions made by the Fondation Ipsen to these advances.
Since its formation three decades ago, the foundation organised the first scientific conferences on many current and emerging areas of biology and medicine, while pioneering new approaches to studying health and disease issues.
Marc de Garidel, chairman and chief executive officer of Ipsen, said: "I'm delighted
that the Fondation Ipsen … is able to gather together the world's best researchers to discuss the need for further advancement in the treatment of this deadly disease."
This comes after the company announced earlier this month that its controlling shareholder Mayroy has sold approximately seven percent of Ipsen's share capital via private placement.
