Ivoclar Vivadent launches Cervitec F protective dental varnish

Ivoclar Vivadent has announced the launch of a new varnish that provides fast tooth surface protection for people at high risk of caries.

The Cervitec F varnish contains fluoride, chlorhexidine and cetylpyridinium chloride, a formulation that helps to prevent the buildup of tartar and supports the effect of chlorhexidine, while also making the fluoride easier to apply.

It allows the selective control of bacteria to be achieved in one working step, therefore speeding up the treatment process. The agent is recommended as a basic protective measure for caries prophylaxis in members of at-risk groups, regardless of their age.

Since all the ingredients of Cervitec F are completely dissolved, the varnish system is ready for immediate use and can be applied in controlled doses. It is available in an economical dispensing tube and in individual single dose units.

The company stated: "Its relatively high moisture tolerance facilitates the application. Fast application is also possible in field conditions – for example, in homes for the retired or for people with special needs."

This comes after Ivoclar Vivadent launched a new denture cleaning kit containing Cervitec Gel back in April.
