Ivoclar Vivadent launches new update for Shade Navigation App

Ivoclar Vivadent has announced the release of a new update for its IPS e.max Shade Navigation App, which can be used to identify the correct shade and translucency for IPS e.max restorations.

With this update, the app now includes a complete range of IPS e.max materials, thanks to the addition of zirconium oxide, zirconia discs and blocks, meaning users can select the right qualities and optimal complementary materials in five steps.

The software is able to account for all the important factors that influence the overall shade design, including desired tooth shade, indication, dye shade, layer thickness and desired material.

Ivoclar Vivadent has already received a pair of recent awards for the Shade Navigation App, with the innovation prize it received at a regional trade fair in Germany marking the first time that a dental application has won.

The company said: "Using the app is child's play: once the app is fed with the relevant information, it presents an appropriate solution for the requested work."
