Ivoclar Vivadent launches new zirconium oxide blocks for chairside use

Ivoclar Vivadent has announced the addition of several new LT blocks to its IPS e.max ZirCAD for Cerec product range.

These new blocks are designed to allow dental practices to manufacture esthetic monolithic zirconium oxide restorations effectively at chairside, with a range of new shades being made available to provide greater flexibility.

Among the new additions are the LT shades BL, A1-3, B1-2, C3 and D2, and the block sizes C17 for crowns and B45 for three-unit bridges. Each of these offer similar benefits to the rest of the IPS e.max ZirCAD range, including a high flexural strength and fracture toughness, allowing wall thickness to be reduced and translucency to be increased.

The resulting restorations can be conventionally cemented or incorporated using the self-adhesive resin cement SpeedCEM Plus, while both the Programat CS4 or the Cerec SpeedFire furnace from Dentsply Sirona can be used for sintering.

The launch of these new offerings will strengthen the Ivoclar Vivadent treatment concept of allowing dentists to meet their patients' need in a single session.

A statement from the company said: "Apart from the blocks and luting materials, the assortment comprises coordinated products for the entire treatment process, ranging from isolation with OptraGate and cementation to aftercare."
