Ivoclar Vivadent reports strong growth in 2015 business year
Ivoclar Vivadent has announced its financial results for 2015, during which it generated a global sales revenue total of 759 million Swiss francs (551.02 million pounds).
Although this represented a 0.3 percent decline from its 2014 figures, this was mostly attributed to the strong appreciation of the Swiss currency. In local currency terms, the growth rate was 5.9 percent compared to the previous year.
Strong growth was seen across all of the company's key regions, including North America, Europe, Asia-Pacific, Latin America and Africa. Its ceramics business was its strongest performer, with its luting materials, restorative materials and Wieland CAD/CAM units also delivering encouraging results.
Ivoclar Vivadent was also able to increase its workforce by about a hundred employees over the previous year, meaning it now employs around 3,300 people full-time.
Robert Ganley, chief executive officer of Ivoclar Vivadent, said: "We look back on a very successful year. In local currencies, we grew in all global markets and in all key product groups. This was beneficial to offset the strength of the Swiss franc."
For this year, the company is planning investments of around 70 million Swiss francs, with around one-third of these funds earmarked for construction work in Schaan.
