Johnson and Johnson allies with Hax on consumer health accelerator programme

Johnson and Johnson has partnered with Hax, a leading accelerator and seed investor for hardware startups, to support its consumer health accelerator programme in China.

The strategic collaboration will see Johnson and Johnson Innovation partner with Hax to co-accelerate consumer healthcare-related companies at Hax's hardware accelerator in Shenzhen, China.

This alliance will aim to nurture startups with technologies in areas of interest to Johnson and Johnson's consumer health business, including skincare, baby care, over-the-counter medicines, wound care, oral care and feminine care.

Applicants co-selected by both organisations will be provided with early-stage seed funding and office space by Hax, in addition to mentoring, education and networking opportunities, in exchange for equity in their businesses.

Selected companies will also receive mentorship in business development and commercialisation from Johnson and Johnson Innovation executives, helping to speed up the process of bringing their products to market.

A statement from Hax said this programme "seeks to assist in accelerating novel consumer healthcare solutions by combining the resources and expertise of the world's largest hardware accelerator with the world's largest healthcare company".
