Johnson and Johnson announces new innovation-led collaborations

13th January 2014

Johnson and Johnson has announced the latest additions to its recent series of collaborations aimed at fuelling entrepreneurship and innovation in the world's scientific hotspots.

A new public-private biotechnology incubator located near the Weizmann Science Park in Rehovot, Israel, will be created in partnership with the government and other industry partners. It will provide funding and support to local innovators in the life science field.

Meanwhile, eight new early-stage collaborations have been announced by Johnson and Johnson's Boston, California and London innovation centres, focusing on multiple disease areas and consumer healthcare challenges.

These include the development of novel cancer therapies, skin and haircare products and pharmaceutical production methods.

Paul Stoffels, chief scientific officer and worldwide chairman for pharmaceuticals at Johnson and Johnson, said: "Addressing today's unmet medical needs requires accessing the best science in the world and the best minds in the world working on it."

This comes after the firm established a new network of partnering offices across UK life science clusters last month, functioning as extensions of its London Innovation Centre.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801681655-ADNFCR
