Johnson and Johnson announces new medical research collaborations

Johnson and Johnson has announced details of a series of new medical research collaborations that aim to drive innovation in key areas.

This latest series of deals are designed to leverage advances in science and technology to address areas of high unmet medical need, including projects in the fields of neuroscience and oncology, among others.

Examples among the 15 collaborations include work to utilise AI to detect signs of Alzheimer's disease early, as well as initiatives to create a simple saliva test for throat cancers and efforts to harness the microbiome to treat sleep disorders.

This brings the total number of strategic transactions executed by Johnson and Johnson's Innovation business to more than 350 since its establishment in 2012.

Paul Stoffels, executive vice-president and chief scientific officer at Johnson and Johnson, said: "By advancing transformative healthcare innovations together with entrepreneurs, academic centres and institutions, we are one step closer to addressing many pressing global healthcare challenges."
