Johnson and Johnson opens London innovation centre

14th March 2013

Johnson and Johnson has announced the opening of a new innovation centre in London, which will help it to accelerate the development of cutting-edge healthcare products.

The new facility will house science and technology experts with broad experience in developing new solutions and products, while it will also offer local deal-making capabilities to facilitate future collaborations.

Research will be focused on high-priority fields such as dementia, cancer, infectious diseases, immunology, biomarkers and surgical devices.

It is one of four regional hubs that will be created in the world's leading life science innovation hotspots, with similar facilities also planned in Boston, San Francisco and Shanghai.

The London Innovation Centre joins a network of more than a dozen UK-based Johnson and Johnson sites, with health secretary Jeremy Hunt welcoming the company's latest investment in the nation.

Dr Paul Stoffels, Johnson and Johnson's chief scientific officer and worldwide chairman for pharmaceuticals, said: "We are looking forward to collaborating within the UK, home to one of the world’s thriving life sciences ecosystems."ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801556715-ADNFCR
