Johnson and Johnson sets up partnering office in Stevenage

21st June 2013

Johnson and Johnson is to support the development of innovative healthcare solutions in the UK with the launch of a partnering office at Stevenage Bioscience Catalyst.

The Johnson and Johnson Innovation site will be used by science and business experts from its London Innovation Centre to interact with Stevenage-based businesses who are developing concepts and technologies with the potential to transform patient care quality.

It comes as part of a wider drive by Johnson and Johnson to embrace open innovation and collaboration models, which are needed to tackle urgent unmet medical needs around the world.

The firm set up its London Innovation Centre earlier this year to carry out research into dementia, cancer, infectious diseases, immunology, biomarkers and surgical devices, with additional sites planned for Boston, San Francisco and Shanghai.

Dr Kurt Hertogs, incubator strategy leader for Johnson and Johnson Innovation at the London Innovation Centre, said: "Our goal in placing four regional innovation centres in life science hotspots such as London is to integrate our science and business experts with innovators and entrepreneurs in these communities."ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801602695-ADNFCR
