Johnson and Johnson to acquire hair care specialists Vogue International

3rd June 2016

Johnson and Johnson is to expand its range of hair care offerings with the acquisition of Vogue International in a deal worth $3.3 billion (2.27 billion pounds).

Vogue International is responsible for marketing, developing and distributing a range of salon-influenced and nature-inspired hair care and other personal care products, which are sold in 38 countries worldwide.

Following the takeover, Johnson and Johnson will be able to sell a wide range of new offerings, including the OGX collection of shampoos, conditioners, treatments, styling products, body care and bath products, plus the FX line of hair styling products and the Proganix and Maui Moisture hair care lines.

The deal is expected to close in the third quarter of this year and will strengthen the company's presence in the hair care category.

Jorge Mesquita, worldwide chairman for Johnson and Johnson's consumer business, said: "Vogue International's commitment to quality, innovation and consumer preference complement our consumer portfolio, while also presenting attractive hair care category growth opportunities for Johnson and Johnson."

The firm already sells some of the world's most well-known consumer brands, including Johnson's Baby, Neutrogena, Tylenol and Listerine.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801819725-ADNFCR
