Johnson and Johnson’s subsidiary pleased to launch new catheter
Johnson and Johnson’s company Bioscience Webster is pleased to officially launch a product to electrophysiologists, it has stated.
The NaviStar RMT ThermoCool catheter has been approved for marketing and is designed to maintain safe temperatures from tip to tissue.
It aims to give physicians the safety and convenience of steering the medical device remotely away from fluoroscopy exposure during procedures to stop abnormal heart rhythms.
The latest device from the Johnson and Johnson subsidiary will be used with the Niobe Magnetic Navigation System to target the area of muscle where cells emit electrical signals that stimulate the abnormal beat.
Shlomi Nachman, worldwide president of Biosense Webster, commented: “We take pride in transforming insightful ideas from the electrophysiology lab into enhanced technologies that improve procedures and make a difference for patients.”
Founded in 1970, Biosense Webster now employs more than 1,300 staff in around 40 countries worldwide.
