KCI, LifeCell and Systagenix come together under Acelity brand name

4th September 2014

KCI has been merged with its sister companies LifeCell and Systagenix by parent company Centaur Guernsey, which has adopted the new brand name Acelity.

The move will see the three subsidiary firms cease to exist as separate entities, becoming parts of the wider Acelity business, which will have an annual revenue capacity of approximately $2 billion (1.22 billion pounds).

Marketing its products to more than 75 countries worldwide, Acelity will occupy a leading position in the fields of advanced wound therapeutics and regenerative medicine, with brands such as the VAC Therapy AlloDerm regenerative tissue matrix, Strattice reconstructive tissue matrix and Promogran collagen wound dressings.

The company consists of two business segments – advanced wound therapeutics and regenerative medicine – plus a separate commercial unit focused on driving emerging markets growth for both business segments.

Joe Woody, president and chief executive officer of the new-look Acelity business, said: "We are committed to our mission of developing a portfolio of solutions that speed healing reduce complications and lead the industry in quality safety and customer experience."

This follows last month's announcement of the imminent departure of the firm's executive vice-president and chief financial officer Robert Hureau. He will continue in his current role until September 23rd 2014, with a search for a successor having commenced.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801746712-ADNFCR
