Lab21 launches new CE-marked assay

17th September 2010

Lab21 has announced the European launch of a new cytomegalovirus haemagglutination assay, which has been granted CE Mark accreditation.

The new device is designed to function with the Beckman Coulter PK7200 and 7300 platforms and utilises liquid stable reagents to provide ease of use to life scientists when conducting infectious disease screening.

It comes as part of a wider expansion of Lab21's international products and services offering, with the Cambridge-based company having recently received its first ever US Food and Drug Administration approval for its syphilis treponema pallidum haemagglutination assay.

The firm also recently agreed a new partnership with Alere, formerly known as Inverness Medical Solutions, to branch out into new territories in the Asia Pacific region.

Hayden Jeffreys, divisional director for products at Lab21, said: "Lab21 continues to grow, having achieved a number of important milestones this year."

Earlier this month, the firm launched a new diagnostic testing service for HIV in the UK, designed to make it easier to identify different strains of the disease among patients.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-800070151-ADNFCR
