Liberty Communications appoints vice-president for US operations

Liberty Communications has announced the appointment of Scott Beaver to the newly-created role of vice-president of its US division and general manager of the San Francisco office.

Mr Beaver was previously an account manager at Bateman Group, forming part of the agency's senior leadership team. He oversaw new business initiatives and managed comms for technology firms such as Braintree, WeChat, Xamarin and Zenprise.

The UK-based tech PR firm is currently focused on expanding its US capabilities and recently opened the San Francisco base in order to develop its presence in Silicon Valley, reports PRWeek.

Liberty also has US offices in New York and San Jose and is keen to grow its brand further in the region, providing better support to its clients in the process.

Dee Gibbs, Liberty Communications' chief executive officer, said: "Scott brings a wealth of experience, enthusiasm and strategic thinking which will be of great benefit to our client base in the US market."

This comes after the agency last month won a new brief with Voltimum, the leading internet portal for the electrical industry.
