Lilly seeks PR partner for autoimmune franchise

6th September 2012

Lilly will be seeking new PR partners to support efforts to increase the profile of its autoimmune drug franchise.

According to The Holmes Report, the pharmaceutical company has released a request for proposal to several firms last month, coinciding with its efforts to increase research and development activity in this area.

Currently, Lilly's PR partners include MSLGroup, Weber Shandwick and inventivHealth, which work with the company on different areas of its business.

The firm is hoping to bolster its capabilities to mitigate the loss of exclusivity on a number of key therapies and has a number of important new compounds in development at its autoimmune division.

These include lipromatase, a treatment for exocrine pancreatic enzyme insufficiency in patients with cystic fibrosis that is currently under regulatory review, as well as phase III products such as the psoriasis therapy ixekizumab and lupus treatment tabalumab.

According to Lilly's most recent financial report in July 2012, the company generated total revenue of $5.6 billion (3.52 billion pounds) during the second quarter of the year.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801443697-ADNFCR
