Lundbeck announces efficiency improvement initiative

25th September 2009

Lundbeck has revealed that it is to launch an efficiency improvement programme that includes restructuring and rationalisation measures in order for the firm to maximise its resources for the future.

The firm plans to initiate a consultation process with the company’s works council about a comprehensive drive, which will see it free up resources for investments in measures to secure its progression.

Reducing costs will be a major priority, it added, as will improving productivity and closing down projects that are not considered to be integral to Lundbeck’s future.

In other Lundbeck news this week, the organisation revealed the positive results of a trial into its Parkinson’s disease therapy Azilect (rasagiline).

The outcome of the study showed that prompt treatment of patients yields the best effects, compared to a second group who started taking the drug nine months after their early start counterparts.
