Lundbeck-supported PTSD trial completes recruitment

4th June 2008

One of the largest-ever studies into the prevention of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) has completed the recruitment stage, it was announced this week.

The trial is supported by Danish pharmaceutical group Lundbeck and includes 407 patients.

Clinical research organisation PFC Pharma Focus Israel said the investigator initiated trial (IIT) recruited from five medical centres throughout the country and is the largest-ever prevention study in this indication.

PFC’s chief executive officer Ran Frenkel said “unique and advanced” methods were used to assess patients’ suitability for the trial.

“We are proud to achieve this milestone and continue to demonstrate our unique and unconventional approach to manage clinical trials,” he added.

Lundbeck says although it is difficult to describe “anxiety disorders”, each can be triggered by various experiences or conditions.
