Lundbeck to train staff ahead of Circadin release

19th March 2008

The upcoming release of a new treatment for insomnia has led pharmaceutical company Lundbeck to employ a training consultancy to prepare its staff.

According to e-learning company Information Transfer, the sales and marketing department need to undergo training because primary insomnia is a new area of therapeutics for Lundbeck.

The team will cover all aspects of background anatomy and physiology considered relevant to the topic of sleep disorders, while therapeutic approaches and competition in the sector will also form part of the training.

Four e-learning modules will be delivered in a three-month time period by information Transfer, which aims to combine clinical accuracy and creativity.

Circadin works by mimicking the body’s melatonin secretion and it is said that it will be a “valuable” option for those using sedative hypnotics.

Lundbeck announced the in-licensing of Circadin for the majority of European markets in September of last year.
