Makara Health appoints new director

Makara Health has announced the appointment of Claire Whitmarsh as a new director as it seeks to bolster its leadership team.

Ms Whitmarsh is a senior healthcare specialist with more than 20 years of experience working in the healthcare and pharmaceutical sectors, including over a decade in senior strategic communications roles.

Her work has included the delivery of national and global comms campaigns on behalf of pharmaceutical companies such as Lilly and AstraZeneca, as well as comms agencies including Weber Shandwick, Munro and Forster, and Cohn and Wolfe.

Working with Louise Sharp, owner and managing director of Makara Health, she will act as strategic lead on existing accounts, build new business and support the continued growth of the agency.

Ms Sharp said: "Claire brings invaluable depth and breadth in public relations, marketing communications, medical education, patient engagement and digital communications, along with a history of leading accounts and developing teams with great success."
