Malvern Instruments promotes ‘early access’ for Morphologi G3-ID

6th December 2010

Malvern Instruments has unveiled an 'early access programme' for the Morphologi G3-ID, which integrates automated particle size/shape analysis with chemical identification from Raman spectroscopy.

The programme is designed to educate potential users about the company's latest technology and the potential to upgrade from other Morphologi systems.

According to Malvern, the Morphologi G3-ID offers "unparalleled performance, ease of use and commitment to customer satisfaction" by combining advanced particle analysis with best-in-class Raman spectroscopy from Kaiser Optical Systems.

It is suitable for particles from 0.5 micron to 10 mm and features a number of applications, including measuring the API particle distribution of one component in a mix and identifying foreign particle contaminants.

Potential fields for usage include forensics, minerals characterisation and biological samples.

Malvern explained that the product differs from traditional Raman microscopes by automatically targeting individual particles.

The Worcestershire-based firm said the Morphologi G3-ID will be available in certain areas of Europe and the US during the initial release period.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-800274404-ADNFCR
