Mast launches Isoplex DNA and RNA isothermal amplification kits

13th February 2013

Mast has announced the launch of a pair of new isothermal nucleic acid amplification kits that aim to deliver improved convenience for laboratories.

The Mast Isoplex DNA and Isoplex RNA kits incorporate a novel loop-mediated isothermal amplification method that can amplify target gene sequences in a simple and robust manner, while eliminating many of the practical limitations of polymerase chain reaction (PCR) methods.

For example, the isothermal conditions of between 60 and 65 degrees C allow for continuous amplification of target genes, as opposed to the short periods of extension associated with PCR, while the new kits are also less prone to inhibition.

The manufacturer said: "These latest innovative additions to an exciting range of laboratory molecular tests allows simple assay design and convenience for laboratories and researchers with busy testing schedules."

This comes after the firm launched a new Isoplex kit for the identification of verotoxin-producing E. coli last month.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801540125-ADNFCR
