Mast launches new Isoplex DNA Lyo kit

Mast has announced the launch of its new Isoplex DNA Lyo isothermal amplification kit, for use in molecular diagnostic applications.

The kit uses loop-mediated isothermal amplification (LAMP) technology, a rapid nucleic acid amplification method that has been proven to overcome many of the practical limitations associated with conventional polymerase chain reactions.

Since the kit is driven by a single strand displacement enzyme, temperature cycling is no longer necessary. It also provides rapid amplification, high yields, shorter reaction times and a reduced need for downstream processing such as sequencing.

Other benefits of the new kit include the fact that its isothermal reaction conditions allow for the continuous amplification of target genes, rather than being restricted to short periods, while its convenient lyophilised format means it can be safely kept even at high temperatures and humidity, facilitating shipping to even the most remote locations.
